You’ll depart from Arusha after breakfast for the approximately two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. As you make your way to the Tarangire you will pass through the vibrant Maasai villages and the sweeping savannahs that have become the calling card of Tanzania. Once you reach Tarangire you will embark on a game drive on the semi-arid yet diverse landscape of the park is marked by acacia woodlands, giant baobab trees, and golden savannah.The park is fed by the perennial Tarangire river which is a watering hole for large herds of elephants as other herbivores such as zebras and antelopes. The action heats up in the dry season when the animals gather around the Tarangire River and other swamps to quench their thirst which sets the stage for a fiery showdown between predator and prey, which unravels in its natural and wildest best. You will take a break for a picnic lunch absorbing the views of the Tarangire river but be wary of the primates eager to steal your lunch. Today is about full day game drives on the sea rolling plains of the Serengeti National Park.
